Orientation and Assessment Programs
Orientation
Clients enrolled in services such as:
must complete a one or two day Orientation Program which introduces them to WWRC rules, regulations. These standards of conduct are contained in the WWRC Client Handbook.
An Orientation Program must be repeated if a client is absent from their WWRC program for three or more months.
- One Day Orientation Program
This orientation provides clients with information needed to live on campus for a short term program.
- Two Day Orientation Program
This orientation prepares clients to transition from home for an extended period of campus living.
Assessment
Clients enrolled in a vocational training program must complete a three day assessment of their independent living skills. Assessment results help a Rehabilitation Counselor determine appropriate WWRC services for a client’s program. Individualized programming assists clients in becoming successful once they return to their home community. Recommendations may include enrollment in the Life Skills Transition Program, specific classes along with another program, or no additional independent living or employment services.
An assessment should be repeated if more than one year has passed since the initial assessment, and the client has not been enrolled in the Life Skills Transition Program.
