Adapted Recreation and Sports

Overview

Clients’ goals for recreation, leisure activities and sports participation can be explored in developing their medical rehabilitation programs. Depending on their goals, clients may be introduced to any number of adaptive sporting and recreation resources available in the community. Whenever possible, clients will receive instruction in the use of adaptive sporting or recreation technology during their rehabilitation program. Other opportunities for the clients to experience recreation and leisure activities are available through planned community outings, WWRC activities and events coordinated with other community partners throughout the year.

• Mid-Atlantic Wheelchair Games (scheduled annually in June)

• Adaptive Ski Program at Wintergreen Ski Resort
• Kayaking clinic
• Power soccer
• Adaptive hunting
• Adaptive fishing
